Ingredients (Serves 2)

4 oz high-quality dark chocolate (60–70%)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
¼ cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
Butter & cocoa powder (for greasing heart shaped ramekins)

Dark Chocolate Lava Cake

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Butter two ramekins and dust lightly with cocoa powder.

Melt chocolate and butter together using a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk egg, egg yolk, and powdered sugar until pale and slightly thickened.

Gently fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.

Add flour, vanilla, and salt. Fold just until combined.

Divide batter evenly between ramekins.

Bake for 10–12 minutes — edges should be set while centers remain soft.

Let rest for 1 minute, then carefully invert onto plates.

Dust with powdered sugar
Add fresh raspberries or strawberries
Serve with vanilla bean ice cream or whipped cream
